This was inspired by an old pioneer mansion that was located on the flat lands in Skagit County, Washington. It is no longer standing as it finally collapsed, due to age and extreme weather conditions. The rounded portion of the upper portion of the home, for years was only held up by a single beam. Painted on Arches 140 lb. watercolor paper and is 9 X 12 inches, unframed and sealed with a UV protectant.
This watercolor painting was done with many layers of glazes and washes to create the final work.
